Harhar. Sewing class ended today! Yeah, it sounds like major suck, what with the having to go even after school's over, but BEHOLD! I show you the fruits of my labor! Below the cut ye will find 1 Gurren-dan approved purse, guaranteed to be the most GAR in all the land.


Here's the purse next to my cause bracelets. My new purse does not approve world hunger!

You'll notice the workmanship is sub-par. It's my first sewing project, so as a purse, it's 'eh.'

Long handles are LOOONG. It's more of a cross-shoulder type purse. Messenger bag style.

8D I'm so proud~ Then again, the Gurren-dan symbol could redeem anything, amirite?

8D Haa~ Thanks! Now that I'm done with this, I'm thinking of just GARifying every blank piece of cloth I own. (Even though the design was a pain to trace)

Out of curiosity, how did you get the logo on the bag? Is it simply fabric paint?

Anyway, I used this funky adhesive paper that comes for fabrics. You iron the fabric you want for the design onto it. Next you cut out your spiffy design, peel the paper and iron the design onto the desired fabric. It's called "HeatnBond, Iron-on Adhesive"

Yeah! Just don't make the mistake of cutting out the design before sticking on the adhesive. That happened to me, and I ended up having to sketch the design twice. Other than that, it's actually pretty easy to work with once the paper's on there. Because cutting paper>cutting cloth.

Oh yeah, what kind of fabric did you use for the logo?

I was gonna use some sort of cotton, originally, but then I had that paper mishap, so I ended up using some loose cloth that was just lying around. Not a good idea, actually, since it was so thin the iron gave it a crisp look. I'd recommend anything that can take some heat without... burning.

Okay, cotton was my first idea too xD I still think it looks really good on your bag, I wish I had one like that now º3º Maybe I'll give it a try soon...

Well, I do cosplay and I know how much of a pain thicker fabrics can be (leather, suede, wtf), but in the end, the QUALITY of the item you've created is just sooo much better, and really worth that time and effort and frustration
