Writer's Block: How'd You Get Here?

I AM NOT GETTING A DREAMWIDTH.

If the prospect of changing usernames terrifies me, what will changing blogsites do to me? Unless you can convince me otherwise, I will keep using LJ forevah. And if I do, I'd rather check out Dreamwidth once everything's established. Right now it's just so... shiny and new. I bet you can practically smell the hopes, dreams and expectations.

I got to LJ like I did a lot of things in my life~ Through yellowdi. I'm pretty sure she got into it cuz of Katsy. Either way, I remember I joined one year and ended up actually posting a year later. Life's weird like that.

Also school's almost over. And by school, I mean high school. It's pretty scary. I'm working my way towards acceptance, but man, I know I'm gonna miss that unforgettable high school vibe. Baw, I wanna be a teacher in times like these...!

lmao someone on my flist posted just below you with her deamwidth account, have I missed something here? This has happened several times now but people soon came running back to/stuck with lj. I did it once, with an older blogsite at the time (cant even remember the name of it now but it's gone under now anyways) because it gave you an obscene amount of userpics for free etc, but as soon as people started jumping over they cut it twice so you ended up with less than what lj gives you for free. Not to mention new blog thingums don't have much in the way of communities etc set up and running and that's a big thing for me. plus I hate it when the interests list is so bare

Everyone seems to be getting Dreamwidth accounts, but so far I'm unimpressed. LJ's strongest draw for me is its community, so I don't see a need for change.

You're right about the downgrading part. I mean, it's not like I'm particularly dissatisfied with LJ. Even their free account are pretty sweet. The other sites give away a lot more because they have less users.

Oh ok I thought this might have been another mini protest thing because lj made people angry again lol. I'm going to try and resist else I'll end up with even more unused profiles than I already have (one at inksome, one at insanejournal though I think they've deleted it because I never used it and I barely use myspace or anything like that) Oh and Greatestjournal was the other one I used to have.

Until they get more users then they start having bandwidth issues, especially if a ton of stuff is free...

Ah, yeah. I heard there was some ad people didn't like? I don't really see the what the big issue is, these things happen in big websites. Sometimes the people in charge care more about money than what they're allowing so they end up ignoring and approving ads they shouldn't have. Once a user points it out, it's taken down. No big deal.

I have an Inksome and an InsaneJournal, but I don't use either of them. I remember back when people thought LJ was going under, that's when I made my IJ. I don't think this DreamWidth migration will stick, but it could just be wishful thinking.

THE FIRST TIME I SAW THIS I WAS LIKE "OMG, THIS WILL HELP THE BACKSTREET BOYS BE MORE POPULAR." and then like "oh, yeah, I guess it's pretty cool that the bird is dancing. what fine tastes it has."
